Hair Club For Babies

So I'm still bald. I'm working on it, though.

Tonight, I tried rubbing some tomato sauce on my scalp.

If that doesn't work, I can always cover it up with a couple hats.

Have a good weekend!!

Odds 'n Ends

Lots of stuff going down here in the crib.

In tooth related news, I'm finally getting my fourth bottom front tooth. I'd had three for a few months now, but it's nice to be symmetrical. It's also nice to be in a good mood again. I'll admit I was kind of testy over the weekend.

Speaking of being testy, I was on the changing table this morning, and I wasn't necessarily happy about it. I was fussing a bit, and Daddy had the nerve to "SHHHH" me. So I decided to "SHHHH" him back. It worked too, because he stopped sushing me and started laughing. I might have to do that more often.

Finally, I was watching Sesame Street at the workout room today and they had this awesome musical guest called REM. I noticed that their lead singer had the same haircut I do. Awesome. Daddy was very surprised that they were on. They must have needed some "Street" Cred.

Memorializing the Weekend

So that was what the working folk call a "long weekend". I thought it was just right.

I had a lot of fun with Mommy and Daddy, but we could have had a little more fun had the weather been warmer. We were going to go to the pool, but the bosses said it was too cool. However, it was nice enough to go to the park, and that was a lot of fun.

We got to swing, slide, run around in the sand, sit in the sand, pour the sand over my head and eat a bit of it. Needless to say, my carseat still has some residuals in in.

Since the weather was rainy, we got to go shopping. I got Mommy and Daddy to buy me a bunch of new clothes, so now I am ready for the summer.

Most of the stuff we (and by "we" I mean them) bought was 24 Month stuff.

I'm a big girl now.

I Got the Blues (and Some Dancin Shoes)

OK, so I may have mentioned that Daddy and I watched a bit of The Blues Brothers a week or so ago. And I might have mentioned that it rocked.

What I didn't mention, however, is how much it rocks. We watched some of it again today, and let me tell you, that James Brown guy is AWESOME!!!

Swimming With Tommy

I had my first friend over today. Tommy stopped by to hang out and hit the pool. It was a blast. It took me a little time to get used to having to share all my toys - it is much easier going to Tommy's house and sharing his toys.

But anyway, after hanging out for a bit we hit the pool. It's REALLY fun to swim with a friend. I even shared my crab with him. He loved it so much his mommy says they are coming back to swim another day.

Best of all, I got to wear my new swimsuit!!

Oh Boy What a Weekend

Well, my busy week continued into a wild weekend. I did all kinds of things with Mommy and Daddy.

On Friday night, we went and had a picnic in the park. It was fun, because I got to play on the swings and in the sand. Sand is really fun, by the way. And if you pour it all over your head and down your shirt, you get to have a bath when you get home, no matter HOW late it is.

Then on Saturday, the pool was open so we went swimming. I totally forgot how much fun that is. Like a bath, except you get to float in a big crab and have Mommy and Daddy in with you. Also, I got to wear my new swimsuit that is cute as can be.

"

On Sunday, we went to the Botanical Gardens and walked around the flowers. They smelled pretty and even though I couldn't run around as much as I wanted, it was still fun.

And speaking of fun, I learned some new words this weekend - "Oh Boy!!". It isn't about boys, but something you can say when you are excited about something. I've been saying it a lot.

Like when Daddy said Tommy was coming over tomorrow to go swimming...

"OH BOY!!!

Takin' a Snooze

Whew!! This has been one crazy week. I mean, we hit the Children's Museum, the zoo, played outside in the grass, then went and saw Mommy at work.

On top of that, I have been so busy I haven't been napping much.

Well, that all caught up to me today...

Cuttin' Class

Yesterday, when I was hanging out at the Children's Museum with Tommy, Tommy's Mommy told Daddy 'n me about a thing called the Polar Bears and Cubs group at the zoo. Basically, babies can get in early and see some animals up close. They tell you all about the animals too.

So, yeah, we were down. Had the first class this morning, and it was a good time. Well, the ZOO was a good time. The class was studying the Madagascar Hissing Cockroach this morning.

What's a girl gotta do to get a Giraffe around here? I mean, I just learned how to say it, right?

So anyway, when Madame Roach was going off on bugs, Tommy and I decided that there were much cooler and fluffier animals out in the zoo, so we ducked out early. Since the zoo wasn't technically open yet, we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves, and it was awesome.

The animals were much more active in the morning, the Tigers were pacing and rowring, the Peacocks were all over the place showing their pretty feathers, the goats in the petting zoo were all over us, and the Monkeys were insane.

When we went to the Gorilla Village, they were so happy to see me that they kept running towards the glass, pounding it right in front of me and thumping their chests. It was the awesomest. The best part was when Daddy was sitting by the glass and he didn't see a gorilla come up behind him and he pounded the glass right by Daddy's head. I think he may have needed one of my diapers. I just laughed and laughed.

We're totally going back next Wednesday, and hopefully the teacher brings in some crappy animal so we can cut class again. But then again, if she brought a Lion in, that would be pretty cool, since I can say "lion" now.

The Life of a Celebrity

Had a big weekend. Took a road trip to Grandma and Grandpa's house, and hit up my cousin Charlie's graduation party.

Whoa, that kid knows a LOT of people. There were people everywhere.

The problem with that when you have a massive online presence the way I do (over 20,000 hits, baby) is that you are kinda a celebrity and everybody feels like they know you well. They have followed your adventures and feel a kinship with you.

Unfortunately, since I don't read THEIR blogs, I don't know 'em. But since they feel like they know me, they get all up in my face and stuff. That kinda freaks me out. Had to keep in close proximity to Mommy and Daddy.

But other than that, it was still a lot of fun. Got to see a lot of the family I hadn't seen in a while. They are big fans of my tricks.

Uh Oh... I'm Psycic

The latest new word that I have been mastering is a good all-purpose phrase - "Uh oh". Like, when you drop something, you say "Uh Oh".

Here's the cool part. I've been saying this for a week or two now, and I have gotten so good at it that I can actually say "Uh oh" BEFORE I drop something. Like if I am sitting in my high chair and I am about to throw my sippy cup of milk off the tray (I tend to do that), I just say "Uh oh", then let her fly. It's kind of an early warning system for Daddy. He LOVES it when I do that.

I think.

Speaking of Uh Oh....

Hello, Goodbye

For a while now, I have been able to say "Hi" and "Hello". In fact, I tend to say either "Hi Daddy" or "Hi Mommy" roughly once every 17.5 seconds.

That was fun and all, but they always just say "Hi" back.

So lately, I have been trying it out on people at the mall. Let me tell you, it works great. We'll just be wheeling around in the stroller and when somebody passes me by I just say "Hi". The look on their faces is priceless. Sometimes, they don't know it is me talking, but when they see it is coming from a cute little bald girl, they always smile and say "Hi" back.

I also do it when we are in a store, but it can get a little awkward if it isn't said in passing, cuz I don't have much to follow it up with.

I need some new material.

Poolside, Baby

Daddy and I went for a walk this morning, and when we went by the pool we noticed something exciting... the tarp was off. There wasn't any water in it yet, but Daddy says that if they took the tarp off it will just be a matter of time.

Awesome.

I couldn't be more excited for the pool this summer. There is nothing better than sitting in a big inflatable crab, splashing your day away.

And even better, with my weight down to the 80th percentile, I am ready for my new swimsuit.

Visitastic

Once again, we had visitors this weekend. This time, it was Daddy's friends from Kansas City (via Nevada, Atlanta, South Carolina, France, San Jose, Cincinnati, New York, Iowa City and Lake Mills).

They were a blast. We went to the zoo and saw the Bears and Monkeys and Tigers and Lions, which is always awesome. And, of course, we went out to eat a couple times, and as usual I had to eat before we went (but I still got to have some fries and some pizza and other stuff).

Speaking of eating... have you ever had an ice cream cone? Daddy and I shared one, and it is the best. Kinda messy and a little cold, but whoa baby those are tasty.

But you know what is the best about having visitors? They don't know any of your tricks, so they tend to be impressed by everything I do. Not that Mommy and Daddy don't give me enough attention, but it is nice to get a new audience.

Anyway, I'll close with the new words I learned this weekend...

"Hi Lee"
